There are many ways for participants to develop their education and training. Participants gain an opportunity to experience success and gain self-confidence. It is also a place to develop new friendships with others who have similar goals.
Educational Programs Participants without Grade 12 can use this program as an opportunity to complete this fundamental stepping stone. Courses are offered in non-traditional settings that allow participants to achieve high school credits. Participants can also access other approved educational programs.
Training Programs
There are also opportunities to participate in training
programs and workshops. Examples include: Workplace Health and Safety; First Aid/CPR; WHMIS; Food Handling; Budgeting; Smart Serve; Ready for Restaurant and Retail; and, Consturction Traffic Control.
Ontario Works has resources available to help with participation costs associated in these workshops, including: child care; mileage and transportation; registration and tuition fees; supplies; and, other required items. Please contact our offices if you are interested.
